Before I became a travel advisor, I considered myself a savvy traveler. I spent countless hours researching and booking my family vacations. Feeling accomplished, I traveled, enjoyed the trip, and returned home satisfied. Later that year, my professional organization sponsored continuing education credits aboard a cruise ship that had to be booked through a travel agency. On my second trip, I was greeted with a bottle of wine and chocolates in my cabin. I was pleasantly surprised. It got me thinking about what else I may have missed out on by not booking with a travel advisor. The pandemic opened the eyes on the value of a travel advisor.  Imagine the feeling of helplessness with no one to advocate on your behalf to navigate cancellations, rescheduling, travel credit, or refunds.
